Lamanai Mayan Ruin

If you want to experience Belize Ruins, this is the trip for you. I won’t kid you, it’s a long day that entails quite a bit of traveling, but you get to see a lot of the interior countryside and it’s totally worth it for all you adventurous types. The day begins early with a boat ride to the mainland. You will enjoy a delicious continental breakfast as we wind our way through the Northern River. In the Northern River we will see a rich variety of flora and fauna, often times even monkeys! Our first stop is Bomba Village.
Once at Bomba Village we will have a few minutes to browse carvings and meet the villagers. This village is known country-wide for the beautiful wood carvings they produce. This is their main source of income, so be sure to bring some extra money along to buy a beautiful wood carving to take home with you. Once browsing time is over, we will board a private bus that will take us along the old Pan American Highway to Tower Hill. When we arrive at Tower Hill we will board another boat and make our way down the New River where we may encounter birds, monkeys and crocodiles.
When we reach the Lamanai Mayan Ruin site we will gather under the jungle canopy to enjoy a delicious lunch of local fare. After lunch you will get an educational guided tour of the amazing ruins of the Lamanai Mayan Ruins site that is perched on the water’s edge. During the tour we will have plenty of time to photograph the howler monkeys and climb the temples.
We will begin our journey home to San Pedro around 3PM.
